Overview

East Coast Professional Photography and Video Inc. began in 1976 as a sole proprietorship in the New York City metropolitan area.

Today, it is a corporation under Virginia state law - recognized by the IRS and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Its president, studio owner and primary photographer is AWARD-WINNING Photographer, Joseph P. Cirone. Additional Photographers and support staff (Independent Contractors) round out the East Coast Professional Team. 

With more than 30 years experience in the photojournalism style, Cirone brought his experience in that style to the Wedding, Event and Portrait markets, at a time when the demand for more contemporary and less traditional/classic photos has been growing.

Recognizing that tradition has its place, Cirone combines his photojournalistic style with the "must-have" traditional/classic photographic shots, resulting in a spectacular mix of memorable images, capturing those great moments in life through his professional photography.

Should a potential client favor either the photojournalistic or the traditional style over the other, we will satisfy the client and shoot in the preferred style, as requested.

While additional photographers and photographic assistants are utilized on an "as needed" basis (depending on the size of the photographic or video project), Cirone is directly involved with every project, from the beginning to the end, to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.

With its mid-Atlantic base of operations in northern Virginia, East Coast Professional Photography and Video Inc. easily serves the entire the East Coast of the US.

Experience

In 1976, upon completion of high school, Cirone began his career as a photojournalist in the New York City metropolitan area.

While attending college part-time in the 1980s, he specialized in photojournalism covering the exciting police, fire, emergency medical and rescue arenas. He also photographed public events and took informal (candid) portraits for feature articles.

In the late 1990s, Cirone accepted numerous overseas assignments, finally returning to the USA and settling in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area in 2001.

Cirone continued in photojournalism, public event photography, and informal (candid) portrait photography. As a result, many hundreds of his photos from the five-year period are stored and available to the print media via a well-known "wire service." The images have been used, in various publications - locally, regionally, nationwide and worldwide.

With the growing demand for his style of photography in the consumer market, Cirone expanded his business into the Wedding, Event and formal (posed) Portrait arenas.  

Most recently, Cirone has been recognized by his peers in the industry, receiving Awards for his work in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006. 

With success in the new arenas and to allow more flexibility in the business, the business' expansion resulted in the establishment of East Coast Professional Photography and Video Inc., (a Corporation) transitioning away from a sole proprietorship form of business.
